“The movement is helping Americans become more aware of the need to advocate for their own health – through daily food choices” : the fact that people hate this — and doctors are mad that parents are asking questions— shows how much the system is about profit and not actual healing.
MAHA is bringing that back. And while not every choice is perfect, like digital wearables — which I’ve criticized — overall, it’s brining health back to the individual, as it should be.
I’d like to offer my work for anyone interested. I come from a health background and present unorthodox perspectives that result in healthier outcomes.
From adhd to GLPs to the history of modern medicine, I cover it all.
One of the most nutritious nutrient dense foods available was adulterated from it's original form over 125 years ago. It was stripped of it's nutrition and chemically treated resulting in many negative health changes over the years It has a really bad reputation right now because of this. What is it? Wheat.
Here's the story of what they have done to flour in our country and the health benefits of eating food made with fresh milled flour.
Around 1900 big industrial mills took over the grinding of wheat which had previously been done in homes or at local mills. They found that by sifting out the bran & germ (the parts that contain at least 27 of the essential nutrients), they could create shelf stable flour that was very convenient & marketable. For appearances they started bleaching the flour, and then heated & added dough conditioning chemicals to allow for consistent results in baked goods. Essentially they took one of the most nutrient dense foods on the planet and stripped it of it's nutritional value. The resulting flour is nutritionally dead & difficult for our bodies to digest.
In the early 1900's there were epidemics of pellagra, beri-beri, anemia related to the lack of nutrients in the flour. Pellagra symptoms are dermatitis, diarrhea, and DEMENTIA. This led to a government mandate enriching flour with thiamin, riboflavin, niacin & iron. They only added back in 4 nutrients out of about 28 that are removed by processing. In 1998, because of the rise in neural tube defects in infants, folic acid became a mandated addition as well. (but they use synthetic folic acid which MTHFR people cannot process). In addition, modern wheat has been selectively bred for qualities that make money faster, not for nutrition.
The first head of (what would become the) FDA, Dr. Harvey W. Wiley, tried to enforce the Pure Food and Drug Act of 1906 & stop the adulteration of flour but the commercial & political interests involved were already too powerful.
There is a movement in the USA among people who have discovered the truth about wheat. Wheat berries (grain) are packed with fiber & nutrients that our bodies need. Numerous health benefits have been reported by people who have started milling their own grains at home & baking nutritious food that their families are thriving on.
Some health changes regularly reported by people that start eating fresh milled flour include: no bloating, no brain fog, no headaches, improved digestion, improved regularity, no gluten sensitivity or gluten intolerance, clearer skin, weight loss, improved acid reflux, improved bloodwork (cholesterol, triglycerides, liver), increased energy, improved sleep, improved gum health, lowered blood sugar (lower glycemic index due to fiber & nutrients), lowered blood pressure Consuming whole grain lowers All Cause Mortality (19%), Coronary Heart Disease Incidence (20%), Stroke Incidence (14%), Type 2 Diabetes (33%), Colorectal Cancer (13%), Cancer Mortality (16%) - from sifted(dot)com
I have seen quite a few comments about improvement of autistic traits, such as becoming verbal & improved behavior, in a facebook group of over 62,000 members that centers on freshly milling your own flour at home & baking nutritious food instead of eating commercially adulterated flour products.
Sue Becker is a wonderful resource for more information about fresh milled flour. She has a degree in nutrition & has been researching this & spreading the word since 1992. An interview with her called " What If Gluten Isn't the Enemy _ Sue Becker" on youtube is where I first found out about this.
thank you for this . I always wondered as been a christian i know that bread was a staple but i knew the bread jesus ate want like the bread we have today.
I have experienced renewed hope in the past year thanks to RFK Jr & MAHA. I'm a retired teacher & watching the school food system change was horrid. I remember when school cooks prepared healthy meals for children. Then USFoods & SYSCO took over delivering prepared foods to the schools. I remember in the mid-90s hearing that school system admins received "incentives" for switching. At that point, the cooks were reduced to heating what was delivered. Sweetened cereals & honey buns took the place of scrambled eggs at breakfast. The majority of meat-like products were fried or breaded. Fruit was canned (sweetened). Milk changed to include fake chocolate & strawberry & 1 or 2% watery chalk-like milk (of course). cardboard cartons changed to plastic bags.
We live in a rural area. Until the mid-90s (see above), at our school, the children separated paper & plastic from food leftovers. A local hog farmer picked up the leftover foods every day. That stopped abruptly about 1995 or 96. The government told the school & farmer that he wasn't allowed to feed his hogs leftovers - fear of contamination for his hogs.
The church I attended started a backpack feeding program about 10-12 years ago. Drug addiction in our area has been rampant. Children went home to addicted parents & no food. Many churches packed bags of food for students to take home on Friday. We learned through bus drivers that children were eating as much as they could on the way home from school because parents were selling any foods that came home. The BIG problem (for me) has been that federal & state regulations prohibited providing real food. Everything had to be prepackaged, and therefore, processed. I'll name a few: Ritz crackers, Goldfish, Little Debbie's, Nutter Butter, Ramen noodles (kids eat the noodles dry & ate the seasoning packet contents), cans of spaghetti-o's (many homes don't have can openers, so we tried to buy canned goods with pop-tops), and two juice-like products in individual packets. I complained to another teacher friend as we went through the gathering line that the items we were packing weren't real food and she said, "At least their getting something in their stomachs." (insert sad face)
One more thing- I've been growing a garden for nearly 40 years (not counting helping my parents during my childhood). In 2009, my husband & I started growing for a farmers market in our area. My goal was educating people about health and variety of produce available. We also kept/keep a flock of laying hens. We've slowed down recently, but still grow for a number of friends and neighbors who are happy to have a clean source for their produce. We connect them to other farmers for various meat products, too.
We take some supplements for our health, but neither of us take any prescription drugs. (68 & 71 y o).
MAHA gives me the strength to carry on and a glimmer of hope for America's future.
Think I'll put some money into planting a victory garden this year. I'd like to do raised beds and grow some of the food we eat. We have lots of fruit/vegetable stands in my area in the summer but it sounds like something I would enjoy. I have a few containers with plants already. And I fully support cooking homemade!! It tastes so much better than processed box foods. Such simple changes can make us healthier. And I love that addiction is being addressed. It's absolutely heartbreaking to see our people especially our youth who suffer from addiction. Now we need an initiative to get us all up and moving. People are too sedentary. Kids need to play outside. We all need to "touch grass" more. I think it would make is physically healthier but also mentally happier.

Let's keep getting this critical message out. Bravo for the Super Bowl ad. Well done. Keep on keeping on!
The SB ad was great and Mike Tyson was a brilliant choice with his honesty and twinkle of good life ahead.
It’s hard to see protesters with their ridiculous signs. They have surely been brainwashed by the big money makers.
God bless Bobby 🇺🇸🙏✨

In 1960, everyone smoked. Now they don't, they just get fast food instead, bags of chips, sodas, and candy. And we were healthier?

Mike Tyson's bites out of the carrot & apple give "raw power" a whole new meaning. The Superbowl ad was a win....

Loved the superpower ad!! Yoo- hoo!!
