Some candy makers are dragging their feet on taking petroleum-based dyes out of candy. But a federal ban, new state laws, and growing public pressure are closing in on the holdouts.
The fact that these companies couldn’t care less about our children’s health, should make parents ban them completely. It infuriates me, especially because I’ve had a lifetime of experience with sick and disabled children (from birth to palliative care and everything in between) and the pain and cost their families go through. Support the healthier choices or teach your children about real food. They will someday be grateful for your wisdom.
Seriously I don’t think most parents think about this because the candy has familiar names and so we remember the ingredients that were in them when we were growing up. Parents need to do what you are doing and bring light 💡 to this problem.

What about HFCS made with GMO corn? High Fructose Corn Syrup is horrible for human consumption. It's in everything. Don't forget about the soy in.most food too. Full of estrogen. Not good for men or anyone when it's in everything we eat.

I LOVE this effort, BUT IF I HAD HAD THIS INFO **BEFORE** BUYING MY HALLOWEEN CANDY I WOULD HAVE PUT IT TO USE! Sheesh!

Right? Poisons in the candy our kids are eating is important, even if there are bigger issues.
I don't view it as either / or.
I'm able to advocate for more than one important issue at a time.
Punish the foot-draggers. Make an example of them and report it for all to hear.
They've had sufficient time to prepare.
