Kudos to Target for getting on board. Costco needs to do the same, but instead, it has decided to make it harder to make healthy choices by getting rid of their green signs signifying organic products. Now, you have to spend hours scouring the store to find them.

Tell Costco to get on board by bringing back the green signs and, while they're at it, reducing the number of products with inflammatory seed oils, synthetic dyes, GMOs, harmful preservatives and other health-destructive ingredients. And ending the sale of organic produce that has been treated and contaminated with Apeel or Organipeel.

Costco has the power and clout to get on board with the MAHA Movement. So do other big retailers. Let's encourage them to do so. Losing customers is not cost effective, which will happen if they don't amend their ways. Costco ought to realize this and get on the right side of history, which is very much in the making.

And may it be everyone's mission to buy at least 50% of their food from small, local farms and producers you know and trust.

John Day MD's avatar

Costco does good research on products, and you can find that by searching each of them, but placing green labels may open Costco to lawsuits.

You might ask Costco why they stopped doing that. I suspect that legal-liability is the answer.

That situation might or might not change.

Truth Seeker's avatar

They used the green labels for many years.

They still have organic labeling on individual products.

Costco reguarly relocates their products assuring that customers have to spend alot of time figuring out where products are. Lots of impulse buying.

They have done a stellar job of increasing organic options.

It appears they are deliberately frustrating organic shoppers likely getting them to purchase conventional.

Jessica's avatar

I thought Organipeel hasn't been used for a couple of years?

J Da's avatar

Its good to see them come together to a rational compromise.

Yes, we have to remember this is a long game, and a long game is how battles are won. Fostering unity and resisting splintering and division is the only way.

Clandestine Reports:

How many times do we have to go through this before people recognize that Trump actually knows what he is doing?

Trump is eliminating the Deep State’s militaristic capabilities worldwide.

Iran, and their terror proxies in the Middle East, are being purged. The cartels, and their terrorist organizations in the Western Hemisphere, are being purged.

Trump has been telling us for years that he is going to “obliterate” the Deep State, and that’s what he is doing. Trump has to eliminate the Deep State’s foot soldiers. The cartels and Islamic terror networks, are assets of the Deep State, that threaten the safety of everyone, and Trump knows they must be destroyed.

Iran was also the vehicle for Obama to offshore nuclear weapons directly into the hands of the ruling families. The regime must be removed and Iran returned to her People.

You want to live in a word free of the Deep State? That’s exactly what Trump is doing. It’s not always going to be sunshine and rainbows, but it must be done.

There will be no broader escalation. There will be no prolonged conflict. This will be a surgical military operation, just like everything else Trump does.

Trust Trump. He has earned it.

An important question now and going forward is how farmers in the US are to be supported. Under Nixon/Kissinger/Butz the "newer deal" was to "get big or get out", as Butz often said.

This weaponized US agriculture against farmers across the whole world, certainly starting at home, and made wheat and corn strategic weapons.

Every place that a chemical could be used in production, a chemical has been used, reducing costs farther and farther. Farmers have also been steadily squeezed out, and mostly have to hold other jobs. They are my age, retirement age, and competent young people from rural communities are not taking it up, because they see hard work, exploitation, failure and losing-the-farm.

The cost which we all bear is poisoned food, with low nutrient content, and dead soils and no insects on the windshiled when driving in rural America.

Is it possible to pay enough to de-weaponize farming? Will it be tried?

Truth Seeker's avatar

Have noticed a growing trend that consumers are willing to source and pay more for

organic. That is growing. Can the organic farmers keep up?

John Day MD's avatar

Paying a little more for something that costs 4X as much to grow might not budge the needle much on sales.

Truth Seeker's avatar

Transitioning from convention practices to organic is expensive

as yields often diminish in the short term.

Depending on soil fertility, it can take several years.

At some point it reverses, and is far less expensive.

This fact is somewhat offset by diminishing health crisis and costs.

Current buzzword is Regenerative Ag.

Some farmers realize that feeding the soil is the way forward.

PonyBoy's avatar

Now, if only the HHS, MAHA, and the restaurant industry can mandate all restaurants remove inflammatory seed oils and high fructose corn syrup from the food they serve, the American people will be getting healthier by the day.

Weekly Wins: Secretary Kennedy Backs President Trump on Approach to Glyphosate

Weekly Fail; A true Betrayal - The MAHA movement was a large ploy for votes, and barely changed anything regarding the 1000+ conventional ag synthetic chemicals that poison American families all year long. The food dyes were small tiny improvements, but 99.5% of the synthetical chemical poison standard in American food still remains.

Will they ever do a 100% Organic country standard? No, never. Without profitable poison producing billions in revenue leading to immense lobbying to keep the P&L party going, Americans will continue to get poisoned regardless of what other false savior "MAHA" type political campaigns they elect. These are ploys for votes, and back-stabs later on.

Big food, big chemical, big pharma. All top influencers in politics, because it's the cost of doing business when your products poison families.

As far as the solution, a 100% USDA Organic standard for all food and agriculture in America, how is the support going? None, there is no million/billion dollar funding from any mega corporations at all. Only poison pays. Where would Organic get it's campaign funding and political lobbying influence, when it lacks poison?

PonyBoy's avatar

Target, the chain, just put a target on all other food chains to begin complying to MAHA standards.

Thank you Target.

Target probably learned their lesson from having gone so WOKE. Thankfully they realized their error . . . I only started shopping there again a year ago. Now I will promote them to others for after May.

Millions of young Americans 45 year on down have been poisoned by Rx Oxycontin and other Opiates. Millions of these addicts never wanted that life. Millions of these addicts need cannabis medicine from the Pharmacy. Millions of Americans need our Doctor's support with cannabis medicine by way of Jazz Pharma that makes Rx Epodoilex CBD. President Trump changed the schedule of marijuana to a schedule 3 opening up new named medicines from the marijuana plant. Who holds the PATENT on marijuana plant? Federal government. How many Drug Mfg Companies own US patents on the marijuana plant? Google it, many have US patents to bring marijuana medicine to the patients. Now to really understand this, who started the Opiate epidemic? Congress approved Rx Oxycontin for Perdue Pharma just watch the movie Dopesick. I survived this Opiate epidemic but many Americans didn't. I spoke in Boston at a cannabis event 2019 about how I replaced Rx Oxycontin with strong cannabis medicine. Boston Globe never interviewed me if they did maybe others wouldn't be dead from Opiate overdose. The word overdose when it comes to the Opiate pain patient addict, it's always the addicts fault. I spoke how I taught US Senator Feinstein medical marijuana had medical values after replacing Rx Oxycontin with it. I spoke how I asked US Senator Feinstein to remove Rx Oxycontin from the Doctors and Pharmacist. I showed emails from US Senator Feinstein welcoming my views on medical marijuana. Many emails from US Senator Feinstein and Senator Harris, yet no one cared. Pain Patients need some form of pain medicine, by getting US Senator Feinstein to understand Rx Oxycontin was killing Americans not helping them. I thought GW pharma that makes Rx Sativex would come to us Americans in pain. Didn't happen. 2019 Boston Globe didn't do a story on PATIENT ZERO that survived the Oxycontin eppadmic. Who died two weeks later in Boston maybe could have been saved. Opiate's kill, doesn't matter if it comes by way of pharma or street fentanyl... addiction to opiate's is real death sentence... CANNABIS MEDICINE REPLACED RX HEROIN IN 1914, WHEN will someone listen. Patient Zero John Prinz survivor of the Opiate epidemic.

Hundreds of successful startups making all kinds of CBD products.

Thank the Medical Cartel for scripting Oxy and other opiods and...

their bosses Big P.

Additive Personalities will addict themselves to any substance.

Foolish people, Big P, the Medical Cartel...

Howz about knowledge??

John Prinz's avatar

Before CBD...it was only marijuana in the 70ds. In 1996 CA it became medicine and we didn't can what was called. Dennis Perons Cannabis Buyer's Club sold it by high grade was a 6+, 5,4, we never cared what it was called. As long as it got you high. Big Pharma and Big Insurance control our Congress. Congress controls the DEA, FDA and CDC... these agencies control our Doctors and Pharmacist. When the DEA tells the Doctor's to stop passing out Rx Oxycontin... they had to stop. I never heard of medical cartel. Because in CA it's the Mexican cartel that grows thousands of pounds of marijuana illegal marijuana. Meth and fentanyl they control and poison people with it. So medical cartel sounds like patients. Someone everyone will learn about Irvin Rosenfeld and ask yourself are you not American equal to Irvin Rosenfeld.

Truth Seeker's avatar

the Medical Cartel is the Medical Profession. Far greater than 99% of whom work directly for Big P. No more get out of jail free passes.

The % of renegade truth telling MD's has never been HIGHER.

That is a very promising fact.

Patients are people who mostly have no idea what so ever where health originates, how to achieve it, or what to do when chronic degenerative dis-ease takes its toll. There are thousands of details.

CBD's are excellent pain control options.

Once again folks. I support the overall MAHA agenda, however RFK's slavish relationship with Trump and the Republican machine is hard to swallow. His MAGA movement has decimated my Minnesota city in the past 2 months sending federal thugs to terrorize our city. I see no push back from RFK and the MAHA leadership on the vast majority of the MAGA agenda.

Daniel Murphy's avatar

Craig, without Robert Kennedy Jr ‘there is no MAHA.’ He serves at the pleasure of the president. I’ve studied enough about the RFK Jr, to say without hesitation the president has made moves he would never have done, if he were president. I fully understand your frustration regarding President Trump and have been deeply disappointed with the majority of his second term. But, Bobby’s focus is at HHS - only. Unfortunately this country doesn’t seem able to produce another FDR.

Craig Neal's avatar

Thanks Daniel for your considered response. I tend to agree with you and appreciate knowing there is someone in the RFKjr/Trump ecosystem that is willing to have a nuanced conversation about their alliance.

I'm very happy to see Target respecting something as important as MAHA movement vs. their history of WOKE advertisement.

Philip Grover's avatar

I think you lose a lot of credibility by explaining away the support of glyphosate as just 'playing the long game'. We need a much better explanation why this toxin isn't being banned. Our environment can't take it, we can't take it- We're all being poisoned by it in our food, our water, our air.

PonyBoy's avatar

Philip, have you got a better way to proceed for farmers until a non-toxic substitute can be developed?

Please tell us all.

Philip Grover's avatar

Many farmers raise crops without glyphosate. Usually it's called organic farming, but not everyone wants to jump through those hoops. If this approach doesn't translate well to larger scale agriculture, then we need to re-think how we deal with weeds at that scale. I don't claim to be an agriculture expert, but I have confidence that it can be done. Not so much a magic substance to replace glyphosate, but a different approach to farming. Let others who are involved in farming chime in with what they suggest.

Recently a scientist from MIT went out into the streets of Cambridge and found glyphosate in the air- not an agricultural area. So glyphosate is everywhere- in the air, the water, the soil, on our food. We need to stop poisoning our planet.

PonyBoy's avatar

Agreed. If you had watched RFK Jr. during his run for President, I believe it was in 2023, he interviewed a number of farmers on the practices they were utilizing to promote healthy crops. He, is our best bet in turning large scale farming around with Secretary Rollins as well. Thanks for you response.

Philip Grover's avatar

And thank you PonyBoy for calling me on that- it serves as a reminder to not just criticize, but provide positive ideas for change as well!

Yes, I'm a fan of RFK jr. I don't envy the task of trying to effect change in that environment, but he's been battle tested in court. Pray for his safety!

Trump needs to "encourage" the chemical companies to come up with a truly safe substitute in a hurry, we don't need yet another generation of muddle brained unhealthy citizens. Long game won't get it!!!!

The FDA needs to approve marijuana medicine in any form to us Americans in pain.

Beth C Coddiwompler's avatar

DMSO is an excellent painkiller, with many other health-promoting properties as well. It might be worth trying. Read Healing with DMSO for practical, how-to information.

John Day MD's avatar

Not a "painkiller", but helps cells, including nerve cells get back to normal function, though pain often decreases in minutes after use "YMMV".

John Prinz's avatar

In America Robert Randall was the first Federal Medical Marijuana Patient in 1976. This Federal Medical Marijuana Program is still supplying one federal patient, Irvin Rosenfeld. In CA Dennis Peron fought for AIDS patients to bring CA State Compassion Use Act. 1996 CA State patients had Mmj. This was the same year Rx Oxycontin came out to pain patients like me. So why did our Federal government have a Medical Marijuana Program yet feared marijuana medicine? CA CUA forever. Learn to grow to have..

John Prinz's avatar

I believe DMSO is outlawed in America, only Horses or animals. Sounds crazy. I learned from my psychiatrist that DMSO is used in Rx patches... to help bring the other compounds into deeper.

John Day MD's avatar

You can get a 1# jar of 99% DMSO gel in the horse section at Tractor Supply Company, near the "Horse Paste" Ivermectin. Online, too.

Beth C Coddiwompler's avatar

No, you can get it, preferably in glass bottles, from the DMSO Store online.

And yes, it helps other things work better in a synergistic way, in addition to dozens of benefits on its own.

John Prinz's avatar

It's sold in our feed store in my little town...the cowboys use it on their horses. But it's outlawed in California. CBD is now outlawed in America because of Congress passing the BBB. The only FDA approved CBD is Rx Epodoilex... it's only for a special group of children... Other patients like me would have to have a prescription for off label drug. CBD.

John Day MD's avatar

Are you getting sunshine and keeping your vitamin-D levels in the upper normal range?

John Prinz's avatar

Who has heard of high levels of THCA and THC to controls pain? I found a way to make strong cannabis medicine by way of olive oil. 1 tbsp equals 300 Mgs of THCA and THC... when I use 3-4 tbsp of THCA and THC, my pain goes... away for hours. I call it Fuchsatima... long active cannabis medicine stronger than Rx Oxycontin. Smoking a joint or hashish is short active medicine. I have knowledge and the plant. I don't have to pay for it. CA CUA patients have more freedom. Maybe my freedom comes from God. But I write to get our Federal government to bring cannabis medicine to the pain patients that don't have my knowledge. 34 years of pain, cannabis medicine saved my life. Harvard Professor Dr Grinspoons book Marihuana The Forbidden Medicine saved my life. What I Learned was Rx heroin was replaced by cannabis medicine. Easy to understand Rx Oxycontin was just heroin with a new name. Like Rx Epodoilex is just a new name for CBD. Dr Michael H Moskowitz was a psychiatrist and my Treating Doctor for 27 years. I have all 34 years of medical records to bring my knowledge to help others. CUA forever. It would be great if Congress made a Compassion Use Act for all of America.

John Day MD's avatar

Not constipating, either. Thank you for relating your experience.

What you make as an extraction used to be called "hash oil".

John Prinz's avatar

No hash oil is just rosin from the plant. Just like pressing to make live rosin. Rx Sativex made by GW pharma made it with alcohol and cannabis...in a spray. This alcohol formula is like Rick Simpson Oil. Google it if you never heard of it. RSO is cooked down to honey oil. But my Fuchsatima is made with olive oil, it a healthy way to make a strong cannabis medicine. THCA is just the bud before you put heat to it making it THC. Science. So my way is a strong cannabis medicine and I know this by having in tested in a Ca lab. It's all about the Mgs when it comes to Medicine. I have over 160 different medical reports from Dr Moskowitz about what I was doing and thinking. 2005-2021 each month. I have been disabled since 1992, used Doctors Way until I read the book Marihuana The Forbidden Medicine. 2005 is when I told Dr Moskowitz I replaced Rx Oxycontin and 13 other Rx drugs he gave me. Medical reports are very important... Dr Moskowitz retired in 2021 after he wrote his book Medical Cannabis by Doctor Michael H Moskowitz. Great knowledge in his book for anyone.

FarmGirl's avatar

Lots of good things happening but meanwhile, back on the farm, fruit canneries continue to close, leaving fruit farmers without a place to sell their crops. And no, you can't make a living from a farmer's market so don't politely suggest it as the solution. While MAHA is pushing to make things better, the SOURCES for the food - the farmers - are pulling out their trees. It's happening right now and it's devastating.
