I was at Chick-fil-A and there was a gentleman walking around look like a manager or owner and I asked him when they were going to start using healthy fats to fry their food and he responded oh I have no idea. And I proceeded to tell him that I thought that they would follow suit after Steak and Shake had done so

When I dine out, I ask EVERY restaurant. Especially the nicer places. I first ask what they use and 95% tell me canola oil. I ask when they will make the switch so they can keep the healthy patrons. Sometimes I'll ask for the owner or chef. (Never use chains.) I ask them if they miss their super healthy clients and they often say yes! Sometimes we have a good chat. The lights will hopefully slowly go on.

Peanut oil is signature CFA chicken. In the 80’s they did use lard for fries, but I don’t know what they use now.

They use canola oil. I had to ask because I have a peanut allergy. I can eat the fries, but not the chicken. But I don't go there at all anymore because of my allergy.

Sadly, many tone-deaf restaurants.

Huh, my adult son, who has a peanut allergy just ate a chicken sandwich at CF a few weeks ago, and no problem for him- he had never eaten there before, and I’m sure he didn’t ask about the oil 🤦🏻‍♀️. But that is reassuring that the oil didn’t affect him. (The proteins are denatured)

America's getting healthier!

Michael Boes has a bachelors degree in finance, worked for a travel nursing company - temporary/travel work for nurses. That got him a bobby-maha HHS gig, which makes him the Nutritional Hero For Our Time.

One doesn’t need a degree in nutrition to know what they are talking about. He is self taught, like I am about health and nutrition. There is a tone of information about there! Lighten up… 🤦🏻‍♀️

He has never worked in any capacity related to nutrition.

Why aren't you irked that you weren't given the job?

Or one of hundreds of dozens of high-level Steak and Shake executives already in place. None of them would have been able to ....?

Enjoy being pandered to dishonestly.

And there food got exactly 0% healthier...

Cia Parker's avatar

But Senator Kennedy eats there food with his Dianabol, Anadrol, testosterone and Deca-Durabolin. And Jesus eats their.

Bravo to Steak 'n Shake and congrats to Michael as he embarks on another mission to make fast food healthy! Great news!

What about making sure there is no MSG or aspartame in any of their food?

The Scam Doctor's avatar

It would be a waste of time that wouldn't improve human health outcomes.

Penelope Delevoryas's avatar

Hi, Scam Doctor, Since I am allergic to MSG, it would certainly improve my dining experience. Both MSG and aspartame are neurotoxins. How would removing them

not improve health outcomes?

Wellness Hacks's avatar

Caffeine and ethanol are neurotoxic. Vitamin A toxicity causes increased intracranial pressure with blurred vision, dizziness, poor coordination, vomiting and more - all before developing chronic Vitamin A toxicity.

Table salt disrupts neuronal function if you use enough.

Vitamin B6 causes distal parathesias - numbness, tingling and burning in feet and hands, as well as gait disturbances and loss of balance, fine motor impairment, and so on

Hi, Dr. Scam, Thanks for pointing me to your description of a toxin. Yes, ofcourse, dose matters. I was curious about the toxicity of arsenic in rice. I had a hair sample tested and the only element that came up high was arsenic. I live in Ecuador and was eating quite a bit of rice (no longer!). Can a small dose of arsenic over a period of years eventually cause death (was thinking of the movie ¨Arsenic and Old Lace¨). Thanks.

Don't drink their Diet Coke or Coke Zero if you don't want aspartame.

Like that Chik-fil-A taste? Enjoy your sodium chloride and MSG.

Why are you trying to nanny state, Big Brother dictate what people eat?

You’re sick

Awesome! Fast food will no longer be fake food at Steak and Shake any more! Hope this precedent gets more asap!

Awesome endeavor and so true when the customer demands change and in the market one brilliant option pulls ahead, the consumer will follow. I haven’t hear any of the public not wanting a change at fast food operations. An excellent example of one person taking the opportunity and running with it. Congrats

Love this! Come to Phoenix 🙏 Thank you RFKJR! Thank you all involved❤️

I’m so proud of Steak and Shake!! Thank you for taking a forward movement towards MAHA!!

Wellness Hacks's avatar

They hired a finance guy from a nursing employment agency "to lead efforts towards nutritional integrity!" - 🙏 Thank you RFKJR!

If that is a win, would hate to see a loss. Fried food is absolute garbage as any health

seeker figured out decades ago. Changing the frying fat and offering "real sugar" is akin to rearrangeing the deck chairs on the Titantic.

Now about those Vaxs...

I wish we had a Steak N Shake in AZ. The closest one to us is in Las Vegas. Every time we visit my home state of Indiana, this is where we go for our first meal on the ground.

Tee Rigodanzo's avatar

I felt the same in NM . . . looked up locations & Denver seems the closest

I'm so glad steak and shake is using tallow, but the fries are pre-cooked in crap oil 😢 They need to do this 💯%, or don't bother!

LOUMCKENZIE's avatar

YEAH!!! I use to stop and buy take-out fries at SN'S, but stopped some time back. I will do this again and see if I can taste the difference. I'm really a "health food" type, but one must allow one's self leeway at times. This new MAHA influence is going to bee successful and I just know it.
