Yes, the Polio vaccines may well have done net harm. It is hard to be sure. There was a lot more Polio going around than people knew, 90% of infections were not apparent, and sanitation made the big improvement even before OPV came out, which caused a lot of Polio, due to uneven batches. IPV is mostly useless, except for profits.
I am convinced that Measles has a moderately high fatality rate in adults, particularly by the Hawaiian experience, which is fairly modern. The Hawaiians were living the same as they ever did when measles came to them. There were other plagues, but over half of native Hawaiians died in those exposures to Eurasian infections.
I do recall my week of pain in every fiber of my being with measles in February 1965. It was the most inescapably miserable I have ever been in my life. I was approaching 7 years of age.
