Thank you, Jax! Your advocacy will have a huge impact on so many.

Please explain the issue here.

FDA HAS a formal regulation ENFORCED since August 2014: 21 CFR 101.91 - Gluten-free labeling of food.

This defines what “gluten-free” means and how it can be used on food labels. Foods labeled “gluten-free,” “no gluten,” “free of gluten,” or “without gluten” must meet criteria that ensure they contain less than 20 ppm gluten (the lowest level reliably detectable in foods using scientifically validated analytical methods), AND Do not contain wheat, rye, barley or their crossbred hybrids or any ingredients derived from them unless processed to remove gluten).

This rule was written to protect celiac-disease patients and create a consistent standard across the food supply.

Likewise, only certified gluten-free oats (<20 ppm gluten) may carry that label, though avenin, the gluten protein found in very low concentrations in some oats (<0.5% by weight) is structurally different than the gliaden and glutenin, hordein and secelin found in wheat, barley and rye, respectively.

August 5, 2013 Final Rule published in Federal Register 78 FR 47154.

Beyond all of that, FDA is already in the process of tightening those regulations further; https://celiac.org/2026/01/21/fda-signals-new-action-on-gluten-labeling-and-cross-contact/

The contentions in this kid's statement are untrue or misleading:

"In 1985, the FDA issued a final rule, which found that labeling gluten ingredients is more desirable than gluten-free labeling, and that all gluten ingredients must be identified by name when used in food. That was 41 years ago, but the FDA has never enforced this.

THE FDA HAS ENFORCED A MORE STRINGENT (than the 1985 version) REGULATION FOR OVER 10 YEARS - Title 21, Section 101.91

"Since 2006, wheat has been required to be labeled, but not barley, rye, or oats."

NOT TRUE

What is evident is the profound stupidity of people here at the Kenedy "Beacon"

They are most definitley clueless about this and many other issues.

Great job Jax!!!! Thanks for your dedication to this cause.

Coming from a celiac thank you Jax! I’ve always said it is this next generation of young people that will save our country and our health for that matter given all the correct information and guidance! Bravo!

Gluten enteropathy is NOT an allergy. It is an autoimmune disease and is not common. It has been inappropriately given a lot of publicity in order to facilitate the sales of gluten free food products.

Truth Seeker's avatar

That is the profound truth. People on the Beacon are really simpletons.

I would love to know how much this kid and his dad are being paid.

Nigel Southway's avatar

Especially because his basic contentions are untrue. FDA has enforced strict regulations for gluten labeling since 2014. See comments above by me, and by "Freedom Fox:" https://www.themahareport.com/p/maha-kid-jax-bari-delivers-impassioned/comment/210480050

Could things be more stringent? Perhaps. But the kid's speech includes major falsehoods.

Common sense, indeed. Great job, Jax!

Total Idiocy. Absolute profound stupidity.

Howz about labeling the air and water?

Ooh, I've learned to comment. Try and stop me now! I didn't get past the headline, "MAHA Kid," because I'm old and don't want to take advice from a 12 year old, be it this kid, Greta Thunberg, or the child of a celebrity with a ready-made pulpit who testifies before the United Nations. When a child has a stake in an outcome, it's fine to let the kid testify, and to consider that testimony, but giving a child headlines not only simplifies issues (it's so easy a child can figure it out! when in fact it's not that easy, a child probably can't figure out all the nuances, and whoever is behind the child seems not to understand that) but also places the organization in the same category as parents who post cute videos of their little wonders (only to be surprised later that the images are used for God-knows-what) and, even worse, political activists who employ their kids as human shields, bringing them to protests, riots, and known military sites, then roaring in outrage at the result. I have kids and grandkids and have been a schoolteacher, which is why this little matter matters to me.

Truth Seeker's avatar

as you correctly point out this is idiocy at the pinnacle.

Would not be surprised if RFK himself issues a cease and desist.

I totally agree. However, if the writing is so tiny that you can't read it with a magnifying glass, what good will that do! My pet peeve is that now that we require companies to label so many things, we can no longer read the labels!

Are celiac and autoimmunity iatrogenic caused diseases? If so, what causes them?

TeeJae's avatar

Many would say the crazy amount of vaccines given during infancy. Others would say (though not iatrogenic) the chemicals sprayed on food crops and within the fertilizer they're grown in. Still others would say a combination of both.

Truth Seeker's avatar

Vax injury compouned with Glyphosate toxicity. Celiax dis-ease is a very rare entity.

Those claiming the "gluten" gremlim as the cause of their health declines have exactly no comprehension.

Truth Seeker's avatar

Not sure you comprehend the conumdrum. Just because a person does not have an explanation, it does not follow that a cause assertion is useful or accurate.

You tag autoimmunity to doctor caused disease. There is evidence that is true but its highly specific.

What we really need is all the poison ☠️ chemicals out of the food chain that give grains the toxic ingredients that cause this problem. Stop spraying our food with bug killers. We end up killing ourselves This is low hanging fruit like fluoride and red dye

LETS GO MAHA. 🙏🇺🇸

It's not just the gluten- it's the RoundUp (glyphosate). In the 1970s, the US announced a newly developed strain of wheat that was higher in gluten. Ostensibly, the goal was to feed the world. Interestingly, the US already had a huge wheat surplus and was shipping it to countries around the world. This high gluten wheat & the RoundUp sprayed on it is what has caused the huge increase in celiac disease. My body has no problems with products made from old-fashioned wheat, such as Durham semolina. I also find European, particularly Italian, wheat products to be digestible.

Side note: most of our immune system is in our blood. If you have to have a blood test done ask them to take the minimal amount of blood necessary. They only need a couple drops they don’t need full viles. You can ask for quarter vials. If you have chronic illness don’t donate blood. Your immune system will be compromised.

Jax did a great job.

Something else to think about regarding vaccines that it’s not just autism but also bipolar ADHD etc. And think about how flu vaccines are pushed on seniors. aluminum and mercury etc could be causing the dementia, Parkinson’s, etc.
