HHS Secretary Kennedy unveils major shift in U.S. mental healthcare, urging non-drug treatments and weaning Americans off overprescribed antidepressants.
Kennedy is shifting the culture of medical care. He is insisting on informed consent which includes benefits and risks. He is also making patients take more responsibility for their health and not rely on a pill for every ill. Finally we are seeing health care that is about health and not simply pimping for the pharmaceutical industry.
Actually RFKjr/MAHA is taking us forward . . . so many alternative healing modalities (MahaMovie.com) . . . also acknowledging Spirit (God bless you) as part of the human condition, needed nature and spoken blessings.
No, not really. The doctors I saw were very educated in conventional as well as alternative forms of medicine. What mattered was how you wanted something handled. Both types of physicians did have lots of time to listen to and showed respect for your thoughts and your decisions..even if they didn't exactly agree with your perspective. And if they were not knowledgeable about something, they admitted that. The biggest thing is that they did not have a computer in their face instead of looking at you; and they were not limited to X amount of minutes per consult time as they are now. The older doctors prioritized a good rapport with their patients and really got to know you as a person.
Look into studies on circadian rhythm and mental health. Our lighting (and lighting regulations) and glazing (and glazing regulations - I'm talking window and door glass) are a huge problem and are making us all sick and sad. Please make this a MAHA issue!
My perspective is that it is statistically impossible that this is not all intentional when taking into consideration each individual factor, e.g. increased blue light from electronics (phone, LED lights, etc.), decreased natural full spectrum light from the sun (e.g. window glazing, stratospheric aerosol injection (a.k.a. "geoengineering", colloquially referred to as "chemtrails") to block the sun using nanoscopic chemicals (e.g. aluminum oxide) under the guise of the climate change hoax, etc... One is an incidence, two is a coincidence, three or more is a pattern.
I fully agree with you, and if more and more people understand the implications of what these "energy-saving" measures are doing to us biologically, we might see change. There are so many people out there thinking they are doing the right thing for the climate by implementing these "energy-saving" codes and regulations and truly don't understand that these same measures are literally making us diseased, infertile, depressed, etc. (especially at a local level where I find it much harder to believe these actions are intentional, these are people who truly believe in it). MAHA has been making strides with the food industry, they might be able to make some strides with these other areas... and don't get me started on the geo-engineering, it's just so wrong.
That is 100% spot-on the target accurate! I WISH more people knew this perspective in the depth you do. The conspirators at the top take advantage of anybody with a conscience. And everything they do usually serves multiple purposes, obfuscating any one particular "reason". For example, the "energy-saving" bull caca serves the purpose of making us sick, but also serves the purpose of cutting off our resources to synthesize scarcity and poverty. The Iran war is the perfect excuse to implement energy-saving regulations and a sort of "COVID 2.0" to attempt, yet again, to usher in their global government. Another example were the shots back in COVID 1.0—take advantage of people's conscious because we don't wanna kill Granny now, do we? Don't get me started on the multiple purposes for the shots, but I'll briefly mention inducing brain-fog so people can't pay attention to what is going on. I believe you're right about the local level officials *for the most part*, but I believe a few will be on the globalist payroll whereas the majority won't know anything more than thinking they're doing the right thing. The datacenters going up rapidly serves as a great example (and serves multiple purposes, including the infrastructure for the globalist AI dictatorship electronic control grid)—in many cities, despite near 100% opposition by residents, the datacenters are voted on in favor of unanimously by city officials... No way they're not on the payroll and should be heavily investigated, but we're going to have to do the investigations as citizens, not rely on the government, because the government is far too infiltrated on all levels. We are dealing with mad scientists... President Eisenhower warned us against this during his Farewell Address over a half century ago when he referred to two branches of the same shadow government—most people recognize "military industrial complex" but we are dealing with (and talking about here) the "scientific-technological elite", which President Eisenhower refers to later in rhe speech. And on that topic, Alex Jones is covering the weaponized ticks, on-air, right now, that Bill Gates, et. al. genetically modified to give us alpha-gal syndrome so we can't eat red meat (causes a deadly allergy). This is one reason they defamed, slandered, and tried to ban Alex Jones—he talks about what the mainstream media tries to cover up, and he's NOT off air, he's at AlexJonesLive_dot_com or RealAlexJones on X or AJNLive on Rumble — he's always covering the bioweapons like the shots and the pLandemic, warned us about it decades before it happened, and just today started covering the weaponized ticks at 11:50 am Central; I highly recommend listening to this or watching it. He just played a few videos of people reporting their findings, such as a guy who found a box of ticks outside, and others are reporting them specifically in State parks... A lot of independent citizens centralize around The Alex Jones Show (formerly Infowars (and my prediction it will be Infowars again soon, as they only bankrupt his company Free Speech Systems DBA Infowars by using a default judgment (guilty without a trial)) but despite that, they aren't allowed to steal a trademark or hijack a company in a bankruptcy (which they did). It's super important that we all communicate and report our findings to expose all of this. Evil can only operate in the darkness—shine Light upon it and the evil doers scatter like cockroaches. What did they try to break down during COVID-1984? Communication. They separated us as much as possible and then force-fed us the propagands. I'll be willing to bet most of us here didn't buy any of it though. How much more of this are we going to out up with? We vastly outnumber them, but we are fighting against some particularly advanced challenges—formerly unseen challenges for most of us, but still unseen to some. The most significant one is the "brain fog". They biologically engineered he spike protein, whether from the SARS-CoV-2 virus or the shots, to induce a type of cognitive deficit ("brain fog") so people can't pay attention to what is going on, no less follow up on it and get involved legally, lawfully, peacefully, and patriotically in stopping these real conspiracies. We need to expose this—and that is exactly why I referenced Alex Jones—quite possibly the most defamed and slandered independent journalist that exists. Although he is harsh for some people's ears, his information is true and predictions are very preemptive and highly accurate. The guy has a track record of correct predictions ahead of time, simply put. And he has dedicated his life to God and fighting the failed New World Order. Anyway, I can ramble about this all day; I'll probably start a SubStack too. For now, I'll just press send to get this information out there. I'm very glad you see the full perspective on the reason people support these harmful policies—they think they're doing the right thing. We need to expose that pattern and plant the seed so those people can start analyzing the motives behind these policies, because the politicians and officials drafting them don't wake up in the morning and say, "How can I help Humanity today? I'm just so motivated to do the right thing and draft policies with no ulterior motives at all, just for the good of everyone!" –__–
I am a graduate of a master’s degree program in Work Health in Sweden. You are mistaken, unless the labor union has changed the rights of employees since the time I was there. What is your background to deny this?
Nothing, it was just a flyaway campaign promise. In fact, the energy code gets worse in July 2028 when it will require 120 lumens per watts which will effectively phase out all incandescents and push our LED's to an even worse level biologically. To change it, it requires a change to the energy code from the Department of Energy which would require a massive change of course. The most effective way would be new congressional legislation requiring a change (but we're talking about the same Congress that wouldn't directly vote to repeal the glyphosate liability shield so ugh). But if enough of us keep at it, maybe we can make a grassroots change?
Thank you for the link. I went to its volunteer page and found no information about how a person volunteers, how they can help MAHA. Disappointing for myself, and to see how the organization represents itself.
Another shady "nonprofit" that doesn't even list its officers. They want your money, they want to sell you merchandise. Their website is a bit more polished than some of these operations - they have an animated legislation tracker without any actual data.
It clearly said anyone can volunteer . . . I'd imagine the form is simply to express your interest & get in the loop . . . there is so much going on with MAHA but if you're not serious, I wouldn't sign up either.
Jargon and dog whistles at another Bobby dog and pony show. Meanwhile, SAMHSA has been gutted. TWO BILLION DOLLARS in funding cuts, from a $7B budget. 2800 grants terminated (fewer after outcry), over half of all employees forced out - It was never a large agency - From 900 employees down to about 400. And another ONE BILLION dollars more cuts for FY 2026 and FY 2027.
But those cuts were all very specifically targeted at "waste, fraud and abuse," and only the "woke DEI grants "
Nothing says commitment to substance abuse and mental health treatment like trashing the agency that does it.
Brilliant! This is an extraordinary and timely initiative! RFK jr continues to tackle so many key issues that need attention ASAP. As a veteran, I hope you are familiar with the tragic struggles vets experience with PTSD... perhaps one of the most serious mental health problems in our nation. More than 20 vets commit suicide daily.
But there is hope! I have looked at all the multiple programs that the VA has looked into, and Transcendental Meditation is the one that stands out. A long term $2.5 million project found that TM produced a remarkable result. I have experienced the life changing benefits myself, and I've seen dozens of other vets find not just temporary relief, but permanent life altering freedom from the stress of military service and wars.
Please look into this and make it a priority to meet with some of the doctors, military leaders, and program administrators that have implemented the TM practice into the military and other mental health programs in society. There are hundreds of published peer-reviewed studies verifying the benefits. One place you can look quickly for a summary of benefits is the DavidLynchFoundation.org -- funded by the film director and also notable TM practitioners such as Paul McCartney, Hugh Jackman, Clint Eastwood and many others.
Emergency room nurses and doctors have also benefited, and several scientific studies have shown remarkable changes in sleep, reduced depression and anxiety... and yes, significant reduction of the need for medications.
Thanks again for all you are doing to make America healthy again... and please keep our veterans in your thoughts and prayers! Steven Schulte, PhD
Transcendental Meditation fits the description of "evidence-based non-medication treatment" for depression. And it has withstood the test of time -- it was introduced seven decades ago.
Steve, so glad you are on board & Thank You for Your Service.
In just Part 1 of the Summit, Vets were asked to stand in honor plus later referenced for some of the sad & shocking statistics you mentioned. TM is an amazing alternative; local Father Richard Rohr (nationally known -https://cac.org/about/cac-faculty/cac-founder-richard-rohr/) was/is? doing daily meditations with a small group of people. Crime in his neighborhood was statistically lower than nearby areas . . . I believe.
Tee, thanks for your beautiful comment. Yes, there are religious leaders from all faiths that practice TM and encourage using it to reduce stress and enable a deeper understanding and experience of their religion. Many Catholic priests for example, have been encouraging TM to reduce drug and alcohol addictions.
Thanks for noting that TM does not conflict with anyone's religious beliefs. And most importantly, there is a large body of research which shows that group practice of TM has a dramatic influence on crime and other negative tendencies in society. The Global Union of Scientists for Peace (GUSP.org) has been advocating for using the TM practice to reduce war deaths and help in peace creation globally.... 30 + published scientific studies have found extraordinary results in this area as well.
Well worth a deeper dive into the research from government leaders!
Thanks for the GUSP link; at a quick glance it looks lovely & enlightening. Probably won't take a deeper dive however because I am maxed out on keeping up with MAGA, MAHA and attempting to pray/meditate my way thru the vast changes daily.
It sounds like you are truly committed to TM so I hope you reach out to MAGA. Any chance you watched their movie? Lots of meditative & alternative modalities to healing not only the individual but also larger groups. Totally unrelated, but one podcaster I listened to over recent years who had a big following would close with a meditation; his belief was that 7,000 meditating together could stop a war.
Then there is the morphogenetic field . . . exponential effects from that . . . if one believes. As for religious beliefs, I am totally done with labels so if something brings healing it is ultimately from the Divine (our Creator) . . . since the recent EO that includes psychedelics (stringently monitored). Any thoughts on that?
One of the best things about RFK jr and the MAHA movement is they are open to whatever works... and using real science -- and not pharma spin -- to decide which programs, medicines, vaccines, etc. are actually effective. So studying psychedelics is worth a try, there is some good evidence behind it.
But for me, a more natural approach without potential negative side effects is preferred. I go back to the numerous long term studies already completed on TM and reducing drug/alcohol addiction... strong evidence is already there that it is highly cost effective, easy to implement and enjoyable to practice.
BTW, who was the podcaster talking about the group impact of meditation on war? Yes, there is considerable research on that!
Agreed about natural approaches first . . . however desperate times (PTSD) call for desperate measures (psychedelics - something like Ayahuasca used by shamans). How much is TM being used for our veterans? Probably not much because it would be too effective (sarcasm intended).
And yes, MAHA - whatever works. Just struggled thru Dr. Bhattacharya's RECLAIMING SCIENCE video from 3 months ago. I loved him for the GREAT BARRINGTON DECLARATION & all else during the draconian lockdown (Which I Never Did).
The podcaster - please be sitting down - was David Wilcock. Are you familiar? He was big years ago on Ancient Aliens but I only watched him recently because he came to Jesus the back way and was very big on St. Michael - the patron saint of military/law enforcement/etc. I also appreciated his 'galactic' info as that world is becoming more de-classified even as we speak (& I needed to get up to speed). But I digress . . . sadly he took his own life on April 30th however IMHO I understood why.
'Agreed about natural approaches first'... I'm fully on board with you on that! As you probably know, there is considerable research showing that exercise and organic food have been effective in reducing mental health issues, and dramatically reducing the need to use the perpetual cascade of pharma products...
Americans use four times as many prescription drugs as Europeans! And quite sure in the East people use far less drugs... and understand much better, that if used wisely, food is medicine!
BTW, Maharishi International University (MIU.edu) in Fairfield, Iowa, was the first university to have a degree program in regenerative agriculture. Besides practicing Transcendental Meditation twice a day as part of their academic program (not just the students, faculty too!) they have a fully organic diet as well.
CIDRAP, really? An organization that's still pushing the "safe and effective" covid, HPV, flu, and HepB for newborns vaccines, and fearmongers about alleged "epidemics" around the globe like H5N1 and "equine encephalitis," etc, is not a source most people here will find credible. But you do you, dude.
One of my sisters had very erratic, weird behaviors that suddenly started when she was about 15. The one incident I remember most clearly was when we she was missing and we looked all over the house and yard for her for about 3 hours. We lived out of town so no other places were nearby that she could go to. We had very large windows in the living room. The windows had low sills that were about 6” wide. The window drapes were thick and dark. My sister was finally found standing in the windowsill, behind the curtains. She had stood there, without moving, for about three hours. Her doctor at the time wanted to put her in a mental institution. I don’t know if he also wanted her on meds, but most likely he did. My mom was not going to have that and found a new doctor. This doctor put my sister on Niacin supplements, and before long, all of her issues went away.
I recently watched a video with Dr. Michael Lewis, author of the book, “When Brains Collide”. In the video he discusses how inflammation negatively affects the brain, and how there even is a relationship between suicide and inflammation. He has now added treating his patients for inflammation, as part of his treatment protocol, and is having remarkable results with his brain injured patients.
Seems like nutrition is an important factor to address in healing mental health patients. I would even say more effective than most pharmaceuticals, but that is just my humble opinion. And I am taking it to heart and addressing my own inflammation issues.
If someone really needs a pharmacological intervention, why are psychedelics, which are proven to be curative—especially when combined with psychotherapy (psychedelic assisted psychotherapy), considered "experimental" (e.g. psilocybin, ketamine infusion therapy, etc.)? Ask ten people who have received ketamine infusion therapy (racemic, not the brand name S-ketamine nasal spray) and 90% are going to say it was immediately effective, 50% are going to say it was effective long term, and a smaller percentage are going to say it was effective five years later and was never needed again (I fall into this group). Twenty years on "antidepressants" (which either made the problem even worse or did nothing for the problem at all (except one very old, rarely used one anymore (Elavil (amitriptyline) which was highly effective but had severe side effects))) no longer needed after 6 ketamine infusions over 2 weeks... That was 5 years ago—depression never returned again. I am not alone in this regard. There are suppressed treatments which, for those who need them, should be immediately unsurpressed.
Please share even a bit of that "proven curative" evidence.
"Ask ten people who have received ketamine infusion therapy ... and 90% are going to say it was immediately effective, 50% are going to say it was effective long term, and a smaller percentage are going to say it was effective five years later and was never needed again .."
Effective under certain use cases, but your statistics are imaginary.
Go ask actual patients like I did. Over a period of approximately five years, I've asked nearly one hundred ketamine patients in mental health circles who were willing to share their experience with ketamine infusion therapy and their history of depression “treatment”. I didn't ask them with a clipboard in my hands. My intention was to informally determine if the available authoritative data published in peer reviewed medical journals is underreported. Is it ever. If you go ask real people who are actually using ketamine infusion therapy, you will find that the official statistics are a very poor representation of reality, and you'll know your data is coming straight from the sources it should be, without interference.
*Way* too funny — "FDA approval" — The FDA is NOT a credible agency (if they were, ketamine infusion would NOT be considered "experimental", ivermectin WOULD have shut down PSYOP-19/COVID-1984, and Chlorine dioxide & DMSO would NOT be defamed, slandered, and effectively banned)! But I sense you already know all this and just represent the pharma lobby or 'medical mafia' in some way.
I have a wealthy friend who has been in therapy for over 35 years and has been taking all sorts of drugs as a result of what the therapist has recommended. If anything, his mental health has gotten worse with time. I have to wonder if all of his money spent this way is helping or hurting him.
I recently went to a doctor seeking something for anxiety for which I have been treated in the past and know quite well what works for my hypersensitive system. But no, they will not give me that particular drug instead offering ones I've tried unsuccessfully or new ones that only guess that you have a "chemical imbalance" in your brain. I don't have a chemical imbalance and I don't want my brain chemistry fd with when I am fully aware of the stress that is causing me anxiety. And don't insult me by giving me a friggin antihistamine for anxiety which is also their common practice today. I was told only psychiatrists are giving out these drugs now. I went thru a long process only to be seen by a NP who only gives out one drug. They are all completely insane.
This is unfortunately common. We recently asked our doctor for a named nonsteroidal cream to treat a rash. We had been using a steroidal cream that we mentioned by name and wanted to get off steroids. When we emailed the doctor, we didn't get her response or even that of a nurse. We got an administrative assistant !! who asked if we'd tried the steroidal cream we said we'd been taking. So we pushed back and were told that the doctor is "quite busy, going to conferences and meetings in addition to seeing patients." This exposes the order of their priorities fairly well.
Great article and great news! I've seen many psychiatric prescriptions cause more harm than good in people I've counseled as a psychotherapist for over 35 years.
It seems most new drugs are rushed to market so big Pharma can reap their rewards to the detriment of the public. There needs to be more oversight. As a migraine sufferer I used to take an old prescription med called Midrin. It was the best headache med on the planet IMO. It was NOT narcotic, absolutely NO side effects. That is until they took it off the market a few yrs ago. I don't/can't take any of the new ones they're disgusting and frankly don't work for
Kennedy needs to help the President get off his addiction to lying is a very powerful drug especially when you believe your own lies. Trump is destroying the world's and our economy. With his war on Iran he has not meet his three objectives, 1 take out their leaders, 2 take their uranium, 3 wipe out their missile defense.
I am so happy to read that the doctors will be making a shift back to the attitude of past physicians (for example, the 1980s) when the patient was the partner of their doctor in discussing options of what is good for the condition and then the patient makes the decisions for their own body. I hope the doctors practicing now can make that shift. Whatever made it ok to teach doctors to act otherwise? It has been insulting to go to a doctor with a problem and all they do is hand out a drug - with no discussion!
They way these meds are so o prescribed is appalling. I do not belief any doctor should be eligible to prescribe these medications without first going through extensive training on the side effects and safely tapering someone off of them. If you have no clue in the side effects and/or how to stop taking these meds you have no business prescribing them period. I see SSRI’s prescribed in the inpatient setting for elderly patients who are “disruptive” or “uncooperative” when they are probably just having delirium related to their change in environment or infectious processes. They are a go to drug for doctors and not restricted to psychiatrists, who by all means should be fully aware of the consequences of these drugs but sadly are not. I am hopeful that this issues will be addressed and the overmedicalization of mental health as well as other areas will cease. Polypharmacy is a real problem.
When you look at symptoms of Classic Vitamin Deficiency diseases and compare them to those of Psychiatric drugs their is considerable overlap. Anxiety, Depression feelins of Doom and persecution etc. Its worth a try.
Kennedy is shifting the culture of medical care. He is insisting on informed consent which includes benefits and risks. He is also making patients take more responsibility for their health and not rely on a pill for every ill. Finally we are seeing health care that is about health and not simply pimping for the pharmaceutical industry.
He is taking us back to the good ole days when the patient was a partner with their doctor and I am thrilled.
You two cannot actually believe this.
I can and I do. What do you believe?
Actually RFKjr/MAHA is taking us forward . . . so many alternative healing modalities (MahaMovie.com) . . . also acknowledging Spirit (God bless you) as part of the human condition, needed nature and spoken blessings.
I was very lucky. I had all that in the 1980s with my practitioners.
I think you were a rarity.

RACOON PENIS.
In Sweden all employees have a legal right to sunshine at work.
Swedish regulations emphasize:
Access to a safe and healthy work environment
Adequate lighting (preferably natural light where possible)
Reasonable breaks and working conditions
There's no such "egal right to sunshine at work."
I am a graduate of a master’s degree program in Work Health in Sweden. You are mistaken, unless the labor union has changed the rights of employees since the time I was there. What is your background to deny this?
I pasted that verbiage from Sweden Labor Law, blah, blah.
https://www.government.se/government-policy/labour-law-and-work-environment/
"Legal right to sunshine at work" doesn't even make sense. So, common sense is my background.
And you're making the claim - you prove it.
We were supposed to have had the LED bulbs replaced by the old ones we had. Whatever happened to that????

Did you sign up/join? You need to do that to access the form.
Thanks for your reply, Tee. I didn’t want to sign up without knowing what I was signing up for.
Another shady "nonprofit" that doesn't even list its officers. They want your money, they want to sell you merchandise. Their website is a bit more polished than some of these operations - they have an animated legislation tracker without any actual data.
Be sure to buy their caps and mugs;
https://shop.mahaaction.org/
It clearly said anyone can volunteer . . . I'd imagine the form is simply to express your interest & get in the loop . . . there is so much going on with MAHA but if you're not serious, I wouldn't sign up either.
My note was not about who could volunteer, and you are a smarty-pants for pretending know my motivation and writing about it.

MAHA LIES. https://www.cidrap.umn.edu/public-health/maha-report-chronic-disease-us-kids-includes-fake-citations-other-errors
Do I not say this is a lie
Too funny -
"My intention was to informally determine if the available authoritative data published in peer reviewed medical journals is underreported ..."
You didn't mention the available (online) FDA approval package containing complete clinical, statistical and biopharmaceutical reviews.
Neurotransmitters are no joke there has to be another way
I have a wealthy friend who has been in therapy for over 35 years and has been taking all sorts of drugs as a result of what the therapist has recommended.
I don't/can't take any of the new ones they're disgusting and frankly don't work for
me. WTAF???
This is absolutely the right way to go.
We don't need a ZOMBIES SOCIETY.
Thank you Mr RFK jr ❤️🙏❤️
Kennedy needs to help the President get off his addiction to lying is a very powerful drug especially when you believe your own lies. Trump is destroying the world's and our economy. With his war on Iran he has not meet his three objectives, 1 take out their leaders, 2 take their uranium, 3 wipe out their missile defense.
Don't expect that from compulsive liar, tort lawyer and woo merchant RFK Jr.
Absolutely they need to be trained if they are going to be giving out these meds. I've been saying that for years.
When you look at symptoms of Classic Vitamin Deficiency diseases and compare them to those of Psychiatric drugs their is considerable overlap. Anxiety, Depression feelins of Doom and persecution etc. Its worth a try.
