Finally! Real food without contamination of chemicals and nutritional guidelines from HEALERS- Not SickCare DEALERS who profit from making and keeping Americans sick and broke. Hallelujah!
Well you really don't know much about science. The amound of fat-soluble toxin in industrial meat farming is unreal. You need to read his report and the science.
As a medical doctor working in diabetes mellitus this Guide is based in science. Sugar is the original cause of the PANDEMIC of Obesity, Diabetes mellitus type 2, Insulin Resistance and cardiovascular pathology. Finally we have a scientific Guidelines.
Really you work in this space? I don’t know. First of all as you must know, sugar is what? Glucose right, at least that is the molecular structure once we process food. And sure there is way too much sugar (be it monosaccharides or polysaccharides), but the MAHA report doesn’t really tackle this. Moreover Jorge, as a doctor, you know that alcohol is a complex sugar isn’t it. Why was this specific cause of empty calories and sugar intake removed?
Bad policy replaced with bad policy. And professionals supporting bad science in service of their political beliefs - sorry not for me.
Thank you for your concern. I don’t eat beef as it is full of toxins. Real food and nutritional guidelines are the first step toward healing the American food supply and putting the Insurance Mafia and Big Pharma drug and disease peddlers out of business. The money extorted by law from my Social Security and from others’ personal finances can be spent on good food and alternative healthcare, NOT programmed SICKCARE.
Well Josh, here we go with the ad hominem attacks and reverential quoting of The Experts™ and The Science™ ala Fauci, telltale signs of Lefty groupthink. And the scientific sounding but totally nonspecific terms like "fat-soluble toxin." Read on to see the opinions of real clinicians treating real victims of the unfortunate government sponsored dietary advice of the last 70 years.
And so the response to bad guidelines are more bad guidelines? Sorry Glenn, yeah terms like “fat soluble” have to enter into the discussion. Because it is science and while one can, I suppose, forgive your improper use Latin phrases - science is objective and takes training. Like Dr. Fauci. And about the Latin - I did not write anything that could be even remotely considered a personal attack.
Just because you can spell it Glenn doesn’t mean you understand it.
"Well you really don't know much about science." "Really, you work in this space?" Why do libs always say what's not true is true? It's called gaslighting and it never works. Josh, you're out of you league in this forum. Knowing how to spell it, is the first step to understanding it. The commenters in this forum have years of doctoral and post doctoral education. You?
I use the Yuka App. Download it from the App Store. I sell produce, just scanned the barcode for Bunny-Luv organic carrots- -it showed a score of 100/100 with a green dot. Excellent! Items that show an orange dot will tell which harmful additives are contained, and/or too much sugar, calories. I grow tomatoes and beets and such. I’ve never used pesticides. About the best wash is with baking soda and water—especially for strawberries—the most sprayed berry. Washing ALL fruits and vegetables is the best I can do for now.
OK, I'm not a politically correct person (nor have I ever aspired to be), but I'll suggest anthropologically-based foods if that doesn't offend you.
Basically people should eat with their background genetics in mind. Kind of like dogs and cats being healthier when eating raw meat diets like their wild cousin wolves and tigers do (and NOT highly processed kibble), people ought to eat as our dental anatomy suggests: more meat (ethically, pasture raised) with saturated fats and dairy with saturated fats and bioavailable calcium, as well as greens and fruits.
Could we get prices for organic, Non-GMO, and non bio-engieered foods down a bit? That's all I buy for my family! Publix GreenWise brand is very good, lots of choices and affordable but we need more! Great start though...very happy about this!
Yes! I regularly shop at Publix, Kroger and Wegmans, and buy ONLY their store-brand organic options (which are much LESS expensive) when available. This cuts down on my grocery bills considerably!
It's sad yet true that organic prices actually reflect what food actually costs. Since organic doesn't rely on subsidy crutches line conventional, the price of organic strongly reflects (1) supply and demand (2) cost of labor (more needed when not using pesticides), (3) no environmental clean up costs (born by taxpayers) and (4) retailers trying to get the highest possible price point before demand falls. Except for (4), when paying for organic food, all inputs are accounted for and there are no hidden costs to be borne by society later.
It’s a step in the right direction because it features real food. But this needs to be a plate so it is easier for people to see how to construct their own plates. I’m not seeing beans. Perhaps take a bite out of the Bastyr plate which also has a section for a variety of fermented foods. Now work on making food affordable again.
Food industry veteran here. I like the report overall and appreciate how it's organized and laid out. Very accessible to average readers, if there are any. I agree with most of the recommendations. But going back over past Dietary Guideline reports, there's not as much difference as meets the eye, other than cutting back on grains (nobody should eat 10 servings a day, as was previously recommended), and big wins for the dairy and "full fat" industries. All previous reports recommended whole fruits and vegetables and lean proteins. The focus on "healthy fats" is welcome. The question is, what are you going to do with it?
Dairy isn't food, it's rape. Please everyone, end this practice. There's plenty of nourishment minus slaughtering and sexually violating. Anyone, who attempts to attack for sharing this truth, will immediately be blocked. I pray most with have a discerning eye or whatever sense to see.
We have a small herd of dairy cows that graze the landscape. Each cow gets to raise its own calf for 6-8 months when natural weaning happens. We also have a herd of bulls that breed cows ... when a cow comes into heat she looks for a bull "to do it" and there he is. Our herd has cows that live into their teens.
Unfortunately too many people see any and all livestock keeping as industrial, which there certainly is. But there are many ethical small dairy farms that keep animals connected to the landscape, where people and animals bond over many years, and where people care for their small herd and the animals don't die of starvation, predation or diseases like all wildlife dies.
Please review this. World views are changing with regard to how animals are viewed, and many religions also see them as God's creations, including but not limited to Christianity. We're not talking about a person with purple hair and nose rings requesting modern day acceptance at the office, we're talking about sentient beings uteruses being violated, and at the arm of a "doctor," in your case. As a female, this process is patriarchally violating. Ask any woman if they would be okay with what you presented, if it were them. Ask. https://reddit.com/r/vegan/comments/1qa4xwv/research_across_four_studies_confirms_that_men
Dr. Karrenman, it's still a sexual violation for both male and female. It's a violation to the human too, to know you have violated a body, then give it to the human. We were created to drink human mother's milk, not cow milk's. This usage of cows for their bodies is a form of sex trafficking, even if not on an industrial level. You also do not have Godly authority to snuff a life out, except in self-defense. If you truly bonded, this would not result in fatalities or sexual violation. The trust is built on manipulation. Please reach out to VeganVet.org.
Hi Monique, I appreciate your views. I won't attack you, not that I worry about being blocked by you but I respect your views. Objectively speaking, the argument your making that essentially says a mammalian species should only drink the milk of its own species has veracity except for the fact that I have seen so many different animals drinking cows milk if they can lap it up, slurp it up or however they can get it. I have to wonder why that is. Also, why did God design a cow with 4 quarters but the cow only gives birth to a single calf? That means there are three other quarters that generate milk. A mare only has two teats and usually has one foal, but a mare's udder is anatomically minuscule even compared to a cow's (and I mean a traditional small cow like from the Isle of Jersey that's been there for a thousand years, which is the kind we have). Goats and sheep have two teats and they usually have twins. But cows... why do they have 4 teats yet don't need all four for just their one calf? What was God thinking when He designed that system?
But, yes, I am biased. And I'll be honest, I have wrestled with the whole vegetarian angle myself for many years. The vegan angle I don't understand at all since I question how will the soil be fertilized if not with livestock manure... it then needs petrochemicals from Iraqi oil. Green cover crops are nice, but you need tractors if not livestock (like draft horses) and that takes Iraqi (maybe we should now say Venezuelan) oil to run and maintain such plant based systems.
Monique, I simply don't see things that way nor do I agree with them. I once was on a panel with Gary at the vet school in Guelph, Ontario. We all got to give presentations. When I was giving mine, we had some give and take and I asked him where all the fertilizer will come from. He pointed to how they do it in China (using human excrement). We had dinner together and had quite a nice conversation at a Thai vegan restaurant. I respect where people come from but that's not to say I need to do as they do.
I just learned about abolitionist Professor Gary Francione this summer. That's after 25 1/2 years of no animal consumption on my part - Amen. I gathered a group of vegans to speak to California Senator Vegan Adam Schiff's office on Zoom regarding a need for a Vegan Bill, and messaged him, though never received a reply. The Legislative Aide, who took the meeting, has since ghosted me. Apparently, animal advocacy is fine if it doesn't include a commitment to no killing and raping for the frying pan.
Using human excrement on produce is an unpleasant thought, and definitely not included in veganic farming.
I'm sorry you feel that holding these cows in traffic like conditions is morally alright, and simply a difference of opinion. You're releasing some bull onto her (bull is right). Next thing you know, her body is a "cash cow." (Another good one, though sad.)
Be the real kare, DR. KARREMAN, and let these animals be. It's so unChristian like. It's difficult to believe followers of Jesus could use cows like prostitutes. Furthermore, it's so insulting as a female.
My words may be graphic, but what's going on is exponentially more.
Each mammal creates their "own" milk for their "own" species, although it is true that animals may drink other species milk. We can see this when a little one is orphaned, and another species fosters the baby in the absence.
Regardless of the animal's structure, it does not give a license for a sentient being to be violated. That's like a man saying, because a woman's chest is huge, that gives him the right to reach out and squeeze.
That's why your conscious is wrestling. There are others like you. Some have turned to solely vegan farming. John Robbins left the Baskin-Robbins ice cream fortune, in 1969, at age 21 to champion health, compassion, and plant-based living, rejecting immense wealth for his values. He is a legend.
Dr. Karrenman, thanks for being respectful with this dialogue. With regard to your statement that one needs animal manure to fertilize soil, this is a fallacy. I find it dismaying that 5 of the 10 "experts" on the nutritional panel have financial ties to the beef and dairy industries, and other food companies. How can you be objective when you are paid to voice certain recommendations? Putting meat at the forefront for protein, instead of plant-forward options, is dangerous according to the World Health Organization. So these new recommendations are confusing (unless one remembers that greed trumps health).
This is a great first start. Now we have to remove the pesticides and unnatural animal feed so our fresh food can provide the nutrients that were intended to

What "toxins" exactly? Be specific. Do you even know the scientific definition?
This might help clear things up about what's really toxic: https://thescamdoctor.substack.com/p/you-have-no-idea-whats-toxic-how?r=6hgshq
Don't cut and paste. Do you even know what a "toxin" is?
When the text is blue, you can click on it. That might answer your question.
You are conveniently skipping over organic and other ethically raised foods.
Organic crops use organic pesticides, and the USDA does not monitor how much of those pesticides make it to your plate.

Dr. Karreman you're a cattle business owner. You sell deceased cows for people's "teeth." You will be much better off when you get out of the death cult and sell life instead.
