Gary Null, a voice of thoughtful intelligence throughout the entirety of my very long life. I'm grateful to see you still out there and grateful for your leadership.

Thank you. Humanity is certainly ready for the Truth, and thankfully the Truth is deep inside every person. The Truth and all will be revealed because the Times, they are a-changing’!

Without a doubt this is one of the finest pieces I have read.

Mr. Null you have penned such insight. And curiosity! My god how often I have lamented WHY aren't people, my contemporaries CURIOUS.

BTW, I have only a high school diploma. Have muddled my way through life, and wondered if I was out of step.

Thank you, for this thoughtful piece. Keep it up!

2nd, BTW, I am now 76. Since I was in mid 20's have been seeking "the truth".

Blessings for an enjoyable Christmas seaon.

Beautifully stated. As an Eastern Orthodox Christian I have been learning to hold these truths as self evident and learned them from Christ and His teachings.

Fasting, prayer, and alms giving have been the Church's work since Saint Peter and Saint Paul started in the Upper Room. The Church is fasting now for 40 days as the world feeds its passions during this remembrance of Jesus Christ's Birthday.

Thank you for your writing and boldness in standing up for humanity!

What an awesome article. Loved every word and will continue to trust myself--not the powers that try to strip us of our drive, integrity and faith.

The older I get, the more importance I attach to the instincts we inherited from the creatures that went before us. The most important, perhaps, is the pleasure principle. Put simply, people do what makes them feel good. Otherwise they wouldn't do it. And what felt really, really good in our lives? Being in the womb. Warm, weightless, burden-less, fed, comforted, safe, and all the rest. And what other magnet drives our beliefs and behavior? This thing we call "the ego." That often translates to "being right." Feels so good, doesn't it? "I --- was---am---right." How do I know? Because everyone around me agrees with me. I couldn't even imagine giving that good feeling up. It is my addiction. It gives me a sense of identity. All that good stuff again: safety, purpose, camaraderie, power, self-righteousness... It's wonderful. A wonderful feeling that keeps my eyes shut. Like the plants that seek water and light, the amoeba that avoids acid water, our four-legged ancestors that eat when they are hungry, etc., etc. And so we too seek pleasure, in all its forms. Being a sheep in the flock tickles our identity bone. Following the leader is a sure way to avoid blame and toward safety. Should some truth come along that shatters this safe feeling, well, no, that does not feel good, not to most of us. But there are some who actually enjoy being proven wrong. They thrive on the freedom it brings and take pride in being able to leave the flock and the false narratives and religions that attracted us in the first place. Who was it who wrote the book "Escape from Freedom"? Fromm? Freedom, for many, is scary. They can't handle it. For a few, well, freedom is freedom.
