Again, this menopause, Support effort is supportive of the pharmaceutical companies. Premarin is mentioned but bioidentical hormones, and the research behind them was not mentioned. Is there a reason for that? It is good that the black box warnings are removed.

Disappointed. Why medicalize a natural process? If estrogen replacement is safe, why are women treated for breast cancer prescribed Tamoxifen or other estrogen suppressants to stop production of the remaining estrogen produced naturally? Tamoxifen can cause dementia, too. Looks like more creating patients for life.

I braced when I saw Premarin. The production of Premarin, which the name comes from its origins - Pregnant Mare Urine is a grossly inhuman industry. The procurement of the estrogen needed to make Premarin comes from farms in China now because it’s been outlawed in America and in Canada because of the inhumanity. It requires, typically a draft mare, to become pregnant. She stands her entire pregnancy in a straight stall with hoses connected to her to collect the urine. Often they keep the mares dehydrated so the urine is even more potent. The mare then has her foal, they’re separated and the baby goes to a kill auction and the mare gets impregnated again and goes back on what we call the pee line. It is a disgusting practice. The same pharma company and I forget who it is who has the patent on Premarin, also has a patent on the synthetic, but doesn’t seem to use that as far as I know only gets the urine from China. We must be better. I have been involved in the gentling of the foals that are saved from the kill auctions. It is a sad story.
