When you wrote that federal agencies were "permitted to capture the industries", you got it backwards. It's the industries that have been permitted to capture the agencies.

"The decision by the EPA and state officials to ignite the chemicals in a “controlled burn” (...)". I wonder if there really is such a thing as a "“controlled burn” when chemicals are involved. A simple internet search tells you what happens when e.g. vinyl chloride is burned - it´s not pretty. Hence the respiratory issues and irritatation of skin, eyes, nose, and throat. And that was only one compound....... Not to mention how easily this accident could have been prevented: "A 2022 railroad strike was premised (...) over cost-cutting shortcuts by railroad companies, including personnel and safety mechanisms (...)." And the people in East Palestine still suffer......who compensates the people for the contamination? Who´s paying for the remediation? Let me guess, the government does not have any money to spare at the moment (I´m not talking about some research grant but immediate help for the people) - as it goes to you-know-where.......

What is happening now with the Flint Michigan water debacle ? The last that I heard: they were replacing lead pipe connecting houses with water mains on the street; and, Flint residents were still drinking bottled water from Nestles.

Nestles is one of the most criminal corporations on the planet.

Yes, that's why I mention it ; )

? Legacy media ignored the story for like a week. What happens in flyover country is of no importance to the elites and god forbid the cabbage that was POTUS gets any bad press

In 2016, the Center for Public Integrity published its investigative series Science for Sale. “Science and opinion have become increasingly conflated, in large part because of corporate influence. As we explain in “Science for Sale,” an investigative series by the Center for Public Integrity and co-published with Vice.com, industry-backed research has exploded — often with the aim of obscuring the truth — as government-funded science dwindles.” Tobacco scientist Peter Valberg’s work reversing the science regarding vinyl chloride is featured in these articles: Meet the ‘rented white coats’ who defend toxic chemicals, and here Making a cancer cluster disappear. Unfortunately for nearly every electric company customer, Valberg was tapped to provide his opinion regarding the safety of smart meters in nearly every state, unless they used the experts from Exponent, another notorious product defense firm. I hope the residents of East Palestine and surrounding areas can receive the benefit of decision makers who will address what went wrong with the vinyl chloride safety story, so that it is never repeated. “Science for Sale” actually says it all.......

My Railroad friends tell me that the accident occurred primarily because the railroad has eliminated brakeman’s jobs, one of which was to look the length of the train in curves, to observe whether the brakes were heating up and glowing red.

In other words, the Railroad’s cost cutting has created this hazard, PERIOD.

Little by little Secretary Kennedy is fixing the wrongs in this country. Stopping the corporate capture is one example, so things that go wrong, environmentally as in East Palestine and otherwise throughout government don’t just endlessly repeat election after election.

Congress is despicable. They do NOTHING to protect the public

Originally intended for the roads, interstate transportation systems and commerce are among the few gov't responsibilities established by the Constitution. Bigger gov't has not made them any safer.

The government definitely let the people down in East Palestine, as they did in Lahaina and western NC and parts of TN. Not to mention the Palisades fire in LA. Reagan was right, the worst words you can hear are, “I’m here from the government, and I want to help.” RFKJr came to right the situation and he is following through. Trump has pushed forward in the NC et al area, and attempted to right the LA situation with no cooperation from Newsom or Bass. I’ve heard of no help from the government for the Lahaina people. It may be they have lost everything. So sad.
