I used to watch the late night shows. They were a fun way to wind down with a few laughs and a chance to listen to some of the celebrities chatter with hosts like Johnny Carson, David Letterman, Jay Leno etc. But it never got political or controversial in that way although there were some occasional clashes between hosts and guest or hosts and their bosses. While John Stewart did attack politicians he spread it around and was very funny in doing so.
But in 2016 suddenly out of nowhere these shows became the fertile ground for planting Trump Derangement Syndrome. It all seemed so contrived and inappropriate. These comedians became voices of the Left and if you didn’t like it, then the only option was to turn them off which I did permanently right away. Unfortunately many still watch them and are getting brainwashed every night that they tune in. And while they laugh and enjoy the show, Democracy dies a slow death.

at first I thought is was kinda nice that the main characters included a gay couple and it was presented as 'matter of fact', as it should be. then they 'adopted' a young non-binary couple. again, fine. they were actually kinda cute. but the endless promotion of themselves over it became nauseating.
