I'm 10 years ahead of you, 67 and 40 lbs short of your 65 loss, but I'm 6.4 hit 274 last summer and I said enough. God had me open this email, as it hit home about so many things I've been thinking about and doing. This truly is a learning journey, and I look forward to continuing on His path.

God Bless, Jeff!

Bravo, Jeff! I’m not a Christian, but I have really liked your journalism in Epoch Times. Btw, I was one of the earliest subscribers to ET because I was living in NYC near Chinatown and saw the Falun Gong practitioners and read about them. As the wife of a 72 year old man who was told to lose twenty pounds and lower his glycemic intake, I have one word for spouses: be supportive, don’t sabotage, because I’ve seen the latter too many times. It makes all the difference. I do love to cook and I used to bake bread almost every day, but I stopped the bread. I started turning those sandwiches he loved into salads he loves even more. And when I cook I make sure the kitchen smells delicious, and not like a diet factory. I prep his every day of the week (except when he intermittently fasts) steak and eggs breakfast so all he has to do is slice it up throw it in the pan with eggs himself. Every two weeks I buy a flank steak and reverse sear it. Then my husband cuts it up into portions, vacuum seals and freezes half, keeps the other half in the fridge and is ready to go. This steak and eggs breakfast has really made a huge positive difference.

Thank you for your comment and sharing that story! I love grass-fed ground beef and eggs with hot sauce for breakfast!

Btw, Jeff, in my community of Santa Barbara we had a tragic death of a local coffee (yes, coffee) farmer, Jay Ruskey and his wife. The autopsy is still to be disclosed but seems pretty probably carbon monoxide (they were visiting a friend in Cambria). They were only about 50. Had three teenagers. Jay was often described as a visionary, and he was. I knew his dad and met Jay almost thirty years ago when he was first farming and though, wow, this guy is onto something. I think he’d be a great subject for Epoch Times. Here’s an article in our local paper https://www.independent.com/2026/02/13/remembering-the-ruskeys-californias-most-adventurous-farmers/

After I wrote my comment above I bought The MAHA Cookbook. It’s really good. It’s very close to how I already cook, but I picked up some dish tips. Tonight I used a couple of the tips and made salmon filets with black rice and baby bok choy stir fried with garlic, ginger, butter and sesame oil. I made a lime/hot honey/mayo (I use Primal Kitchen avocado mayo) sauce for the fish. My husband loved it.

Good to hear, Polly! I now cook meals from it regularly.

Way to go, Jeff!! The first photo is of an old man; and the remaining photos evidence your joy, peace, and dedication to thriving! I'm certain that Boston and Zeke are grateful.

Jeff Louderback's avatar

Yes, I didn't feel that good in the first photo. I feel much better now, and Boston and Zeke always get a lot of walks and hikes!

An Inspiring story I can relate to! I heard about intermittent fasting a few years ago and decided to try it. It was rough at first, eating only within an 8 hour window. I wanted to lose 30 pounds but was impatient with the slow results. However, I eventually reached my goal. It’s sad that some people think you can lose weight with a pill. It may work at first, but to keep it off, one must adjust their lifestyle and habits. That inner voice screaming “feed me!” at all hours CAN be tamed, eventually becoming a faint whisper. I walk as much as I can, but lack consistency. I didn’t mention that I’d been vegetarian since age 20, but still ate some processed foods. I eat much healthier now. As of today, no serious health issues as I approach age 80 in December. I am so grateful for RFK, Jr, the MAHA movement, and the support of our President. Thank you Jeff for your inspiring and important story. I hope it can reach a much wider audience! Perhaps some talk shows or podcasts? “Seeing is believing” — and encouraging!

Intermittent fasting, and the occasional 72-hour water fast, have many benefits. Thank you for sharing that, and congratulations! And, yes, I am about to launch a podcast.

Thank you for sharing this! It is so exciting to see people turning to healthier, life-affirming choices and habits. Clearly, you are living vibrantly and I am sure your faith and taking good care of the "Temple" God blessed you with are the keys

Jeff Louderback's avatar

Faith is the most important part!

Hello Jeff. I do take an interest in the MAHA movement since I do know the problem of our corrupt government intentionally makes junk food cheaper, and organic food more expensive. I try to eat more healthier foods like a steak, lettuce, cucumber, and arugala. Even though I eat meat like steak, and chicken. I try to add more vegetables in my diet. I think you've made a great choice in improving yourself by following the MAHA diet. I think the MAHA movement is really becoming bigger. I also acknowledged you in my own post talking about the recent MAHA progress. Please read it.

I would have been more impressed if Kennedy told us where we could buy REAL food now.

Jeff Louderback's avatar

It's ideal to locally source from farmers and vendors you know, and complement that with growing stuff yourself and finding grocery stores you trust. Aldi is a decent one, if there is one near you.

Sonia Nordenson's avatar

Wherever they sell organic, pastured, and grass-fed, Proberta.

Proberta's avatar

You would think Sonia, that 'Organic' means that it was produced organically. Not true. If a food contains only one organic component it can be labeled and sold as 'Organic'.

'Grass-fed' is also misleading. All cattle eat grass. But when they go to the feedlot they are finished on grain that is most likely genetically modified and full of artificial hormones and antibiotics. What you want is 'Grass Finished' meat. But good luck finding it if you don't live near a farm.

'Free Range' means that the poultry was not caged. The chick spends it's entire life in an industrial building with artificial lighting, never sees the sun, and is fed meal containing genetically modified grain and artificial hormones and antibiotics.

REAL food is food that is grown NATURALLY and doesn't contain artificial hormones, antibiotics, or genetically modified anything. And it is very hard to find.

That's why I said I would have been more impressed if Kennedy had told us where we could buy REAL food.

Proberta, my motto is don’t let perfect get in the way of good. You are talking about RFK Jr as though he’s supposed to have solved everything in American food in one year. For most Americans, to move from the processed foods they’re eating now to what Jeff is now eating would be phenomenal. I myself have been aware of everything you’re saying here for several decades and I agree with you. But I’m in the .0001 percent of Americans. And btw, last year I survived the kind of Septic Shock that kills most people or leaves them without limbs or organs. I got through intact. And I’m dealing with what I’m told will be 3 years of post-Septic Shock rehabilitation. I do know a bit of what you’re talking about and I say celebrate that we’ve finally got someone like RFK Jr.

Awesome and inspiring story! So fun that he actually moved out to the country and is trying new ways of living!

I also learned so much supporting RFKJ's presidential campaign in MN. I could relate to hearing about "America’s chronic disease epidemic enough times that I could have delivered his speech for him." HA!

Thank you for your excellent column and inspiration. Many of us should follow this path and share it with our family and friends. Very important.

Great article! I changed my diet and lifestyle 7 years ago to cure an autoimmune disease and love all that the MAHA movement is doing. You might just have inspired me to take on a water fast 👍
