Removing the recommendation for hepB vaccine for children of unaffected mothers should be a no brainer. Why would we expose infants to the risks of the vaccine when there is no risk of the disease from their mother? Where is the critical thinking on this concept? It’s about the profits! God forbid big Pharma should lose control of the narrative on vaccines, their big money maker! Can’t happen soon enough for me. But I’m making a straightforward cost/benefit analysis on 1) the virulence of disease a vaccine protects against 2) how likely my kid is to get it and 3) potential negative reactions to the vaccine (which undeniably exist). I don’t take into account nebulous calculations of “herd immunity” that are external to my kid’s well-being. I feel like parents should be trusted to do what’s best for their kids on the basis of this decision matrix
