As a MAHA mom to a 1.5 year old, I’ve noticed essentially no difference since this collaboration happened. There is more confusion (NOT information) than ever regarding vaccines, the cost of healthy foods has skyrocketed even further (along with everything else), and the use of more pesticides has been approved. I was very happy about this collaboration two years ago- what exactly are we celebrating today??
MAHA Mom, I hear your impatience, but have you considered what has been accomplished thus far in changing guidelines for so many Americans who otherwise were led to believe grains were best and protein was not? The new vaccine schedule, which eliminates unnecessary shots and spreads others out should positively impact developing babies and young children. And parents should not be mandated to get these for their children if they choose not to. There is much more work to be done, and directionally, Sec of HHS, RFK Jr. is on the right path. Certainly, the old guards on the left and right certainly protest his policies too much, and so that also tells me that those politicians do not have our children’s best interests in mind. I agree with you on the glyphosate piece of this. More work to be done for sure, but I believe RFK Jr. will get us there. How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. In the mean time, sounds like your baby is lucky to have a mom who is critically thinking about health and the best ways to get there.
The issue with the way vaccine info has been rolled out is that it increases black-and-white, all-or-nothing thinking about vaccines and autism when it’s clearly a lot more complicated than that. I don’t appreciate the times that Trump has gotten in front of a microphone to deliver such “health related news” because I despise the advice he’s giving (that’s as someone who knows a lot about autism and health AND voted for this administration). I do appreciate your insight and hope you’re right, my fear is just that by the time another administration comes in, they will completely reverse whatever HHS did in the current administration because it was so polarizing. At the end of the day it feels like the needle can afford to move so slow for our children’s health as we get tossed from one administration to the next.
I have read of so many cases in addition to a friend whose child is such a sad case that there is no confusion. Big Pharma has spent a very long time and a ton of money convincing everyone that vaccines are safe and effective, but the scandemic has completely exposed them for what they really are... scam artists who know how to play the politics game. They like to say 'evidence based' even though covid showed they were the opposite, as they scammed the evidence using a variety of schemes like owning all the media outlets..
The awake and intelligent Doctors and nurses were gagged, ridiculed and destroyed. The drugs cos spend more money on marketing than they do on research. They control the education system with money and have ever since the Flexnor report. Doctors are only taught how to use drugs, so they are led to believe that drugs are the answer.
Fact is that despite the most expensive medical system on the planet it has close to the worst outcomes.
Problem is that vaccines have a horrible success rate. Lots of books on the topic. Docs make money every time a child walks in the door for a jab. They claim they don't, but fact is they do.

Don’t try to make assumptions about me. I am very skeptical of vaccine effectiveness and safety. The point is the “information” supplied by HHS only pushed in the opposite direction by suggesting that vaccines are the only cause of autism. If that were the case without genetic and environmental variables then essentially every child would have autism. What I was excited about (and still hopeful for) is open dialogue and discussion.
Also, at the end of the day every parent is doing the best they can, NOT failing. Shame on you.

MAHA mom, your honest appraisal of the situation is refreshing. MAHA has cherry-picked the low-hanging fruit (nutrition and dyes) while failing to address the really difficult issues affecting public health: social determinants of health. Not only are chronic diseases like cancer clearly going down, not up, over the last 60 years, but the persistence of others, like heart,liver and kidney disease results from the success of vaccines and other public health measures that prevented infectious diseases, the leading cause of death for millennia. As for autism, study after study has not linked it to vaccines, Tylenol, or any other simplistic cause. Kennedy’s personal vendetta should not become a national rallying cry.
I disagree. There is an awareness of those social and environmental determinants among tens-of-million of Americans that simply did not exist before this Administration took the reins. We're turning around a huge ship-of-fools and are fast reaching the tipping point.
Glen, I agree with you that there is greater awareness now of the impact of social determinants of health, but I submit that the current administration is not promoting that awareness but rather, is running counter to it. As a lifelong Republican, I have resisted such awareness, but as a public health physician, I cannot ignore it. Read the book, Nickeled and Dimed. It is eye-opening.
My point is that there are enough MAHA supporters now to mitigate the Administration's taking their foot off the gas. The People know too much. The big ship is turning - too slowly for some, I suppose.
Had one discovered awareness of the determinants you mentioned several decades earlier, they would have been late. The ship is well populated, has a large irreparable hole on starboard side, and is listing.
It is not just Tylenol causing problems, it is the combination of tylenol and Vaccinations in the very young which act synergistically to cause neurological damage which is expressed in many ways including Autism. There are many variables including genetic predisposition, metabolizer status etc. But the combination has been proven to be detrimental to some.i was a big Kennedy supporter and agree with the low hanging fruit analogy, whether Kennedy is successful or not remains to be seen but at least he was addressing the important issues in terms of Healthcare, he may well be controlled opposition but its just as likely he is facing extreme resistance from the lobbyists of the industries who’s profits are threatened by change, and as a Kennedy I’m sure he doesn’t want to end up like his Father and Uncle.

It’s true Kennedy has no formal medical license. But to say he has no experience could not be further from the truth. He has decades of experience researching and proving in court, the negative effects of numerous chemicals, meds and other products.
Our country has a massive health problem, largely the result of too many meds, too much and the wrong foods and too little exercise — trends decades in the making.
It’s unrealistic to expect Kennedy to turn all that around in 18 months.
But he’s taking important helpful steps. That’s the opposite of what we had in previous administrations.
I appreciate the exposure of the entire Covid disaster, which would not have happened without RFKs leadership on the matter. I also appreciate the change in the food pyramid and the emphasis on healthy food and the removal of dyes and other substances from the food chain. It is true that there is a great deal yet to accomplish, but the momentum is there.

That’s just links to press releases, some of which are ridiculous - like “Delivered $1.5 Billion to Strengthen Opioid Response” while actually gutting the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (agency) - cutting their budget by over $2.5 billion yearly (~50%), forcing out over 50% of staff (down to about 400), terminating hundreds of grants mid-project, walloping the Medicaid and Medicare programs that pay for a lot of substance abuse prevention and treatment, etc.
Trump is compromised and has not let Kennedy do his job - it’s clear to anyone who has eyes to see. Trump has reversed any progress - the roundup cancer causing weed killer was almost banned and now it’s everywhere again. Trump is a total fraud.
Trump is corrupt not compromised. Kennedy was not chosen for his expertise or knowledge in the health and science field. He was chosen despite that, as payback.

I will always remember that day. We had been working hard supporting Bobby's Presidential campaign, and although we realized he was going to drop out of the race, it was devastating when he made the announcement. Later that day, when he appeared with Trump, and we saw how he was received and heard what he and Trump said, hope was restored. We soon realized that this was an awesome result and that our work had not been in vain because Bobby would be doing what he was meant to do! Bobby is accomplishing as much as humanly possible, against powerful forces. After listening to him speak on many issues, and after strategizing and maneuvering during the campaign, I concluded that "Bobby is playng 5-D chess while everyone else is playing checkers". He has accomplished tons and changed the narrative, but it's still politics and you have to pick your spots. G-d Bless you Bobby!
Trump gave us an Iran war (after he said he wouldn't) and drained our strategic petroleum reserve, and the Ukraine war has expanded under his watch, and refineries have been blowing up. But we have a few wins on vaccines that could easily be overturned in the next administration. Whoopee. I was and still am an RFK supporter but don't count me and many others as a trump supporter.
Spencer, you bring up a good point about glyphosate, but have you considered the issues as a whole? There are a battery of offenders contributing to American’s poor health which also must be considered. We are being assaulted on a daily basis from our environment: dangerous communications technology, over-prescribed pharmaceuticals, and over-processed food. HHS is slowly but surely tackling issues concerning food production, and it’s a big one, especially when you see that Big Tobacco quietly shifted into Big Food. That is scary and we must do our homework. There are apps to help us read labels so we can be proactive. Sec Kennedy also flipped the Food Pyramid, whole-heartedly recommending the needed protein and good fats which have been lacking for decades in the American diet. I can understand your frustration, but replacing ACIP and other HHS members and taking a robust look at childhood vaccines has been the absolute correct move bringing about another much-needed look at vaccines and their efficacy and risks, and positively updating the schedule for babies and children by eliminating some and spreading others out. I’m grateful for these moves. And for the work Sec Kennedy is doing to get big food corporations to promise to eliminate harmful chemicals and dyes. We will see. There’s work to be done on the dangers, both physically and mentally, when it comes to cell phones and children and technology replacing real on-the-ground-learning-with-real-live-and-really smart teachers in school. Meanwhile let’s get behind Kennedy who understands the legal aspects around these health and human issues (check out the work he did to clean up the Hudson River) and who has done due diligence in working with doctors and scientists, who actually care about Americans, on these serious issues. It will take time and there is progress being made and I am 100% convinced that things are changing for the better and will continue to do so.
Saying Kennedy using his legal expertise and family name to clean up the Hudson, somehow makes him qualified for a position overseeing health and science in America. It's like saying because some dude played a successful businessman on a game show that he should be president. Both end up in disaster.
Getting corporations to agree to voluntary remove harmful additives is not the same as having them removed. Good grief.
While it's certainly true that Kamala would have been a TOTAL disaster, it's still hard not to be disappointed in how long it's taking under Trump for the real, drastic changes that many have hoped for. I don't blame Kennedy as I'm sure he would like to have done much more, But there is so much corruption now it's not just to hold him responsible as politics becomes a dirtier game every day. Bucking that trend can be dangerous, especially for a Kennedy... I hope RFJ can keep the fire lit under Trump or whoever else he may yet have to serve under.

And parents should not be mandated to get these for their children if they choose not to. There is much more work to be done, and directionally, Sec of HHS, RFK Jr. is on the right path. Certainly, the old guards on the left and right certainly protest his policies too much, and so that also tells me that those politicians do not have our children’s best interests in mind. I agree with you on the glyphosate piece of this. More work to be done for sure, but I believe RFK Jr. will get us there. How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. The issue with the way vaccine info has been rolled out is that it increases black-and-white, all-or-nothing thinking about vaccines and autism when it’s clearly a lot more complicated than that. I don’t appreciate the times that Trump has gotten in front of a microphone to deliver such “health related news” because I despise the advice he’s giving (that’s as someone who knows a lot about autism and health AND voted for this administration). I do appreciate your insight and hope you’re right, my fear is just that by the time another administration comes in, they will completely reverse whatever HHS did in the current administration because it was so polarizing. Not only are chronic diseases like cancer clearly going down, not up, over the last 60 years, but the persistence of others, like heart,liver and kidney disease results from the success of vaccines and other public health measures that prevented infectious diseases, the leading cause of death for millennia. As for autism, study after study has not linked it to vaccines, Tylenol, or any other simplistic cause. Kennedy’s personal vendetta should not become a national rallying cry.

We had been working hard supporting Bobby's Presidential campaign, and although we realized he was going to drop out of the race, it was devastating when he made the announcement. Later that day, when he appeared with Trump, and we saw how he was received and heard what he and Trump said, hope was restored. We soon realized that this was an awesome result and that our work had not been in vain because Bobby would be doing what he was meant to do! Bobby is accomplishing as much as humanly possible, against powerful forces. After listening to him speak on many issues, and after strategizing and maneuvering during the campaign, I concluded that "Bobby is playng 5-D chess while everyone else is playing checkers". There are a battery of offenders contributing to American’s poor health which also must be considered. We are being assaulted on a daily basis from our environment: dangerous communications technology, over-prescribed pharmaceuticals, and over-processed food. HHS is slowly but surely tackling issues concerning food production, and it’s a big one, especially when you see that Big Tobacco quietly shifted into Big Food. That is scary and we must do our homework. There are apps to help us read labels so we can be proactive. Sec Kennedy also flipped the Food Pyramid, whole-heartedly recommending the needed protein and good fats which have been lacking for decades in the American diet. I can understand your frustration, but replacing ACIP and other HHS members and taking a robust look at childhood vaccines has been the absolute correct move bringing about another much-needed look at vaccines and their efficacy and risks, and positively updating the schedule for babies and children by eliminating some and spreading others out. I’m grateful for these moves. And for the work Sec Kennedy is doing to get big food corporations to promise to eliminate harmful chemicals and dyes. We will see. There’s work to be done on the dangers, both physically and mentally, when it comes to cell phones and children and technology replacing real on-the-ground-learning-with-real-live-and-really smart teachers in school. Meanwhile let’s get behind Kennedy who understands the legal aspects around these health and human issues (check out the work he did to clean up the Hudson River) and who has done due diligence in working with doctors and scientists, who actually care about Americans, on these serious issues.
